Shayi was born in Shanghai, China, raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, but found her home in Calgary, Alberta. Shayi worked throughout her undergrad as well as during law school, in accounting at an international Oil and Gas company in Calgary. She then articled at a downtown Calgary law firm specializing in corporate and civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defence. Shayi joined the Foster Richmond LLP team in June 2009 to work in family law exclusively.
Shayi is fully bilingual (Mandarin and English).
In her spare time, Shayi enjoys walking her dog, reading fiction novels, traveling, and hanging out with her friends.
